D'Yquem Y d'Yquem White Bordeaux 2010
Yquem is widely acknowledged as the greatest sweet wine producer on the planet. However, many are unaware they also sometimes produce a dry white called Y (pronounced EE-grec in French). A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, the grapes come from the same vineyards used in d'Yquem's famous sweet wine. 2010 marks just the 26th time ever in their long history that Y has been produced. Not only is Y among the greatest dry white wines in France when it is young, but it also has outstanding aging potential, gradually developing a multi-faceted elegance. Though this wine has not been rated yet, 2010 is widely considered one of the best white wine vintages in Bordeaux in recent memory, so expectations are that this will be among the greatest Ygrecs of all time.
Nestled in the southeasy of Bordeaux, Château d’Yquem is the world’s most sought after dessert wine – the benchmark by which all other dessert wines are judged.
