Duck Pond Pinot Grigio Willamette Valley 2007
Founded in 1993, Duck Pond Cellars owns and operates 840 acres of vineyards in the valleys of northern Oregon and slopes of eastern Washington. Growing in these diverse climates allows Duck Pond Cellars to produce the best quality fruit for a wide selection of wines.
This wine won a gold medal at the 2009 Grand Harvest Awards and it only gets 3 glasses? come on--it is crisp, clean, fruity and utterly delightful to drink, especially with shellfish or salmon. When you consider that you can pick it up for around $10 a bottle, it becomes an outstanding value, too.
Gold medal winner, Grand Harvest Awards 2009. It's elegant, dry, crisp, with lots of tropical fruit and a hint of minerals. The best part is that I just bought a bottle at the grocery store on sale for under $10!
Just had a glass of Duck Pond Pinot Grigio at a restaurant (Beach Café, Kirkland). It was undrinkable. Like tap water with a twist of lemon juice. Server had a new bottle opened which was fresher tasting but still insipidly thin and so dry as to be sour.
