Duboeuf Fleurie Domaine des Quatre Vents 2011
Rich notes of fruitcake and spiced plum mix with hints of tea leaf ... Drink now through 2015. -AN
Good wine. full flavours. I also like the George Duboeuf Gamay 2003 Vin de Pays de l'ardeche which does not appear here - I'd give that a 3.

Rich notes of fruitcake and spiced plum mix with hints of tea leaf, creamy black licorice and subtle mineral in this aromatic, well-structured red. Fresh, expressive finish.
This knock-out 1995 Clos des Quatre Vents Fleurie reveals an opaque dark ruby/purple color, a flamboyant nose of black raspberry jam and flowers, dense, sweet, full-bodied flavors, explosive ripeness, yet finesse and harmony. This is a veritable fruit bomb in the mouth, as well as one of the most seductive and opulent wines I have tasted from this vintage.
Dark purple-colored with sweet cassis in a ripe but reticent aromatic profile; terrific fruit, purity, and ripeness, medium to full body, but closed and backward; drink between late summer and the turn of the century; an impressive, muscular wine.
Ripe, delivering black cherry, plum and smoke flavors with enough grip for food. Firm and balanced, fresh and clean on the finish. Should improve through 1998.
A seductive red, packed with ripe flavors of raspberries and cherries, this has the smoky and meaty notes characteristic of ripe Gamay, and polishes them off with toasty oak notes. Alluring and harmonious. Drink now through 2001.
The flowers are evident in this Fleurie, with intense fresh fruit and floral aromas for a gamay. Scents of violets, floral strawberry and cherry place it as Beaujolais, though in a finer sense than you might expect.
The Duboeuf 2009 Fleurie Clos des Quatre Vents andmdash; tasted from tank; and as usual, a cuvandeacute;e from old vines treated to long, cool fermentation andmdash; displays ripe blackberry and blueberry, ocean breeze, black tea, borage, and bittersweet iris perfume in the nose. Silken and expansive on the palate, this is a little less intriguing but even more generous than the corresponding Fleurie Grand Pre, finishing with soothing yet stimulating length, and likely to be worth following for 3andndash;4 years. A very ripe and concentrated but awkwardly woody andldquo;Prestigeandrdquo; bottling of Fleurie did not give me much hope for its post-bottling evolution.
