andldquo; This hot weather Iandrsquo;ve created means you can only drink well-chilled white wines!andrdquo; said Mother Nature. andldquo; But there are many light bodied reds from the Loire valley that are great in the summer!andrdquo; replied the informed wine consumer. andldquo; What ever do you mean?andrdquo; she asked. andldquo;Well, this is a vibrant and freshly perfumed red. It has a base of earth and minerals that support light berry, cherry and herbal flavors. Itandrsquo;s mostly tourists who ask for the wonderful Cabernet Francs of Franceandrsquo;s Loire valley, because to the rest of the world, these wines are a secret. Light to medium-bodied and dry, they offer the fragrance of fresh-cut grass and snipped herbs over flavors of wild berry fruit. Best slightly chilled with light foods.

Composed largely of Cabernet Franc with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, this vibrant, freshly perfumed red has a base of earth and minerals that supports light berry, cherry and herbal flavors. It would pair well with vegetables or light cheeses, and works well slightly chilled.

Ripe and juicy for the vintage, with a solid beam of black cherry, currant and sweet tobacco, all framed by good structure on the finish. Drink now through 2009.

Due to the cooler climate, the red wines of the Loire are often more gracious and lighter in style than the red wines of Bordeaux. They are perfect with summer foods or when you want a softer, gentler wine.
