Deutz Brut Classic 1975
Colour: Straw. Aromas: Developed aromas with creamy strawberry flavours. Delicate and slightly perfumed. Palate: Soft and full with fine biscuity yeast autolysis characters and a clean fresh finish. Suggested Food Matches: Champagne is best chilled to about 8°C and served in stemmed, fluted glasses. It makes a fine aperitif and will go well with any subtle flavoured food such as seafood, fish and light chicken entree. Champagne also goes well with salty foods, deep fried food, lightly spiced oriental foods, soups and vegetables. Strawberries are a fine compliment.
Great champagne on the lower end of the NV prices. Ive seen it for ~$32 in some place. Nice yeasty nose, brioche, subtle fruit flavors, delicate.

Since this house was acquired by Louis Roederer, their Champagnes have gained in quality and should be sought out by Champagne lovers. The Brut "Classic" is a wonderful value made from roughly equal proportions of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It is a blend of multiple vintages aged for 3 years before being disgorged. A Champagne offering elegance, subtlety and an expressive finish.
Though it has mature, slightly toasty aromas, this wine also has great flavors of grapefruit, some lemon peel and a vibrant white fruit character. It is dry, with the clean, fresh acidity going right through to the finish.
The wine that epitomizes the improvements made since Fabrice Rosset took the helm of Deutz is the Deutz brut classic NV. It offers a perfect balance between fruit, complexity and restrained acidity.
Year in and year out, Deutz manages to put out a fine, eminently drinkable nonvintage brut. This one projects vanilla, pear and coconut via the bouquet, and apple, pear and cinnamon through the palate. With lively citrus afternotes, it finishes tight and sure. The acidity is appley and moves everything along.
In a flight of nonvintage Champagnes, this one stood out for its more evolved, savory flavors and creamy mouthfeel. Meaty and leathery, with elements of soy and mushroom that are balanced by citrusy acids.
Limpid and refined, defining the elegance and finesse you expect from good Champagne. It’s a bit on the sweet side, with a hefty dosage softening the high acidity and rounding off the peach and citrus flavors. Feels almost weightless, all the way through the young, yeasty finish.
Somewhat closed hint of crisp fruit. smooth, evenly balanced, nicely proportioned, rounded finish, long in flavor. 4–7 years.
