Cote Rotie Rostaing 2004

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

This is one of the top cuvées from René Rostaing, considered one of the best producers in the Northern Rhône. Rostaing started out in 1971 with only 0.47 hectares in the Côte-Rôtie vineyards and now has over 6 hectares. This wine is shows smoky black plum notes and lush tannins.

A superstar of the Northern Rhône, this is a well made Côte-Rôtie (always Syrah with up to 20% Viognier permitted) which needs some time or decanting. Full bodied, peppery with dark, dark berried fruit and woodsy finish.
