This is he one for those of you who are short of cash. This is an inense fruity wine smooth on the palate. It's taste is intense to say the least, smooth, fruity of dark fruits, chocolate, tobacco oak and a smokey finish that lasts on the upper mid palate. If you need a side car wine to go with your prominent selection, throw it in the cart and consider it a bonus bottle for under $ 9.00. I will rate this good and also purchase a couple of bottles for future meals.
My Rating 91: perfect berry nose with slight strong Oak flavors. Body very well balanced in the front. at the end it fades away elegant but displaying a medium body. Got this at Costco for $12.99.
After 2 hour decant: slightly more than medium body, smooth, jammy blackberry, strawberry, hint of chocolate and cigar box, subdued but well balanced acid and tannins. Very nice for the price!
Nice fruit forward and for the under 10 crowd this works for that everyday wine or just to have for the super bowl :-). OK since this was more on the medium side and and big and bold it's NOT, it actually went well with the all the snacks . So gave it a 3 cause of the price and how it went well with the snacks. Any higher in the price and I would not get it or rate it as high

Very fruit forward for a cabernet. It tastes more like a zinfandel to me and is a bit jammy for my tastes. Not necessarily a bad wine but I wouldn't pick it again when I want a cab.

Soft and ripe, generous with its plump cherry and berry fruit, hinting at vanilla and plum on the round finish, this is value to be grabbed without hesitation. It's delicious already, and the tannins are well-submerged. Drink now through 2006.
Check out the deal on this Washington Cab. It's firm and chewy, but the ripe currant and blackberry flavors shine through and linger on the generous finish, and the tad-rough edges should smooth with a little cellar time. Best from 2000 through 2006.

This has really ripe blackberry and cherry flavors, soft tannins, a nice fat mouthfeel and hints of darker roasted stuff. Big, smooth and lush, it gathers power and finishes with a big swoop of meaty, fruity, fat flavor. Not heavy, but delicious and beautifully balanced.
Smoky, slightly gamy aromas and flavors add interest to the basic black cherry and currant in this solid, beautifully proportioned Cabernet. A stylish red, nicely packed with flavor, and with no harsh edges. Drink now through 2005.
Ripe and generous on a soft, open-textured frame, offering currant and plum fruit and a touch of peppery herbs on the round finish. A terrific buy from one of Washington's most reliable winemakers. Drink now through 2004.
This wine has become something like Ol' Faithful to the American wine consumer. Affordable, quaffable, yet substantial and always interesting, Columbia Crest is a continual best buy. The 2000 shows the trademark blueberry and blackcurrant with a hint of anise and earth adding to its complexity. Structured and crisp, it tends to show best with some food to open up the rich primary fruit underlying its firm surface.
