Château la Nerthe Red Rhone Blend Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

La Nerthe, one of the top producers in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, has for many years been a Sherry-Lehmann favorite. This fine example is very approachable now but has the depth and structure to age well."Composed of 47% Grenache, 38% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre, it is surprisingly soft and evolved for La Nerthe, but that actually gives the wine additional appeal. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by aromas of blue and black fruits, lavender, licorice, truffles and garrigue. Full-bodied, supple textured, fleshy and succulent." --Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Château La Nerthe:
Château La Nerthe is the oldest producer in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, producing wine since 1560. The winery has been certified organic since 1998, and is among the region’s top five wineries. La Nerthe is a leader in the art of blending, combining up to 13 varieties - so that no one dominates.
