Château Ferrand Lartigue Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru 2008

External Review:

Wine Advocate ReviewRated 90Thank goodness this estate's new consultant, Stephane Derenoncourt, has toned down what was often too much new oak. He also appears to have built in more density. The 2005 is a beautifully exuberant, sexy wine displaying copious black cherry, toasty oak, raspberry, and vanillin notes. Pure, rich, medium to full-bodied, and luscious, patience will not be required for this beauty as it can be consumed now and over the next 12-15 years.

...the 2000 Ferrand Lartigue has weight, expansiveness, structure as well as tannin, suggesting 1-2 years of cellaring is warranted. Vintage: 1998 07/28/2015

A highly regarded garage operation, Ferrand-Lartigue's 1998 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a tight but promising, internationally-styled bouquet of new oak, black fruits, and saddle leather. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with excellent purity, and clean, rich, concentrated flavors. Critics might argue that it is too international," but it is an outstanding effort. Anticipated maturity: now-2015." RP #134 Apr 2001

This rich, well-balanced wine has very ripe tannins. Complex nose with red fruit, oak, and spices.
