External Reviews for Chateau Carbonnieux Carbonnieux Blanc
Rich, honeyed nose with mouthwatering citrus elements that finish with a crisp acidity and a hint of toasty oak.
This is a strong vintage for Bordeaux's dry white wines, probably as good or better than 2005. Crisp acidity combined with outstanding concentration and the fact that most of the white grapes were harvested before the rains began in mid-September res... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blanc wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Carbonnieux Blanc 750ml
A gorgeous Carbonnieux, this is one of the finest dry whites Carbonnieux has recently produced. A light straw color accompanies enticing aromas of figs, lemon zest, grapefruit, and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, with good acidity, loads of fruit and depth, and a long, concentrated finish, it should evolve beautifully for 15+ years. A great value!
A clean, bright and crisp White Bordeaux that, vintage after vintage, never fails to please. Zesty lemon notes are accented by concentrated apple flavors and refreshing acidity; maintaining finesse and class is what makes this white so unique. Lovely, floral and fruity, this wine will surely complement any shellfish dish that you conjure up.
This white Graves really makes in impression, above all with its gorgeous perfume of ripe fruit, flowers, vanilla and smoke. Very, very rich (50% Sèmillon), but with excellent balance and a crisp finish. It will age well, but there's no need to wait. It really stands up and expresses itself now.
Phenomenal effort from a world-renowned Bordeaux producer! Amazing depth of aromas: fresh-mown grass, white grapefruit, star fruit and wet gravel notes waft up from the glass and on to your palate. Made of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sèmillon; fresh and vibrant, with excellent grip. Limitless food-pairing potential; the stony, mineral undertones suggest it would be wonderful with mussels, oysters, lobster or crab, while the bright, zesty fruit and lush herbal notes mean it would be a perfect match for salads with goat cheese or lemon-basil chicken. White wine enthusiasts, it is time for your moment in the sun! This wine is serious, one of the few great "age-able" whites - try it again in a few years and you'll be amazed at how it has evolved.
Bright and lively with lovely lime, celery and mineral character on the nose and palate. Medium- to full-bodied, with a long finish. Like this a lot. Well done. This is always an underrated white. Drink now.
