Chateau Cabrieres Chateauneuf du Pape 2007
A fine medium ruby in the glass this wine has a rich nose of earth, black tea, and bacon fat, wile on the palate it is dominated by herbal, black cherry, and raspberry flavors and tannins so velvety smooth that you almost don't want to swallow. The wine is nicely balanced and seems to shift its flavors, making it hard to pin down - at one moment redcurrant, at another rosehips. The finish is very nice.Add winemaker's notes

This is an exceptional Chandacirc;teauneuf-du-Pape at a bargain price! The blend is 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Cinsault. Deep ruby in color with aromas of blackberries and cassis on the nose. Intense flavors of ripe dark berries combine with a rich, balanced hint of spice. Delicate yet bold, this wine has a long, mouthwatering finish that goes on and on. Excellent with steak with peppercorns or grilled lamb chops.
The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvandeacute;e Prestige reveals the same aromatic and flavor profiles, but the tannins give the wine a more structured feel, and it feels even more powerful and muscular than La Centenaire. It should drink nicely for 10andndash;15 years.
The dark plum-colored 1998 Châteauneuf-du-Pape exhibits the tell-tale seaweed, pepper, and black cherry-dominated bouquet along with spice box and peppery undertones. Medium to full-bodied and purely made, with a nicely layered texture, it should drink well for a decade.
Has a sun-dried cherry, raspberry nose with an ultra-lush, velvety mouthfeel. The flavors are well-balanced with notes of blackberry and a clean, bright, red berry finish. Delicious and full of lively fruit; a great wine for any occasion.
The plum/ruby colored 2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape possesses an excellent, sweet, full-bodied personality offering plenty of jammy kirsch, plum and currant fruit. It is an ideal candidate for consumption over the next 7-8 years.
Deep ruby. Ripe cherry and dark berry aromas are complemented by black tea and fresh lavender. Bright cherry and minerals on the palate, with a refreshing mineral undertone and a late kick of licorice. Tightly focused, with a zesty cherry skin quality lingering on the finish. Very young, but this wineandrsquo;s energy and balance bode well.
The 2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is sweet on the attack (because of high glycerin/alcohol), with a voluptuous texture, and a fleshy, fat, open-knit, expansive style. Drink this crowd-pleaser during its first 8-9 years of life.
