Carmelo Rodero Pago de Valtarreña Ribera del Duero 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

The Carmelo Rodero Pago de Valtarreña 2009 is a red wine made from 100% Tempranillo (or Tinta del País, as they like to call it in Ribera del Duero) grapes, from vineyards that are within 45 and 55 years old located in the single-vineyard "Pago de Valtarreña". These vines have been controlled to produce within 3,000 to 3,500 kg/ha. This wine has undergone malolatic fermentation in French oak barrels. This wine has spent 24 months in French oak barrels and a minimum of 12 months in bottle before being released. Try it with meat dishes, specially red meat (veal, duck dishes) and stew dishes. Will also pair well with foie gras and game dishes. Try it also with oven-roasted fish dishes with accompanying sauce, like cod, monkfish or sea bass.
