External Review by Palm Bay International:

The Citra family of stylishly-created Italian wines, widely admired for its enduring high quality and exceptional value, represents a reliable source of versatile, food-friendly varietal wines. As the single most important producer in Italy's picturesque coastal Abruzzi region and a leading Italian brand across America, Citra has built a reputation as a trusted producer of well-made, authentic Italian wines. The winemaking firm of Citra came into being in 1973 when 7,000 small growers scattered throughout the Abruzzi opted to band together to form a single wine cooperative. What they all shared in common was a commitment to win the national and international recognition they felt the wines of their region deserved. The fortitude, resourcefulness and conviction of the quality-minded Abruzzi growers who form Citra continue to make the Abruzzi winery a model of its kind. Production Area Grapes are harvested from hillside vineyards in the province of Chieti, in central Italy’s coastal Abruzzi region. Grape Varieties 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vinification Hand-picked grapes are vinified employing traditional methods and macerated for 15 days at a temperature of 77°F. After decanting into stainless steel tanks, the wine spends a short period in oak barrels before bottling and release. Color Intense ruby red Bouquet Rich fruit aromas with notes of black pepper Taste Round and full on the palate, with balanced tannins and a pleasant, lingering aftertaste Alcohol 13% Serving Suggestions Enjoy with grilled meats, roast turkey, barbecue and hearty vegetarian fare.

Situated on a high plateau in the Uco Valley of Argentina’s Mendoza region, the Portillo (meaning “portal” or “gateway”) winery and vineyards are dedicated to making superb quality wines for everyday enjoyment. Harmony with nature is readily apparent in every aspect of this property, which is designed to deliver wines that capture and respect the pristine beauty of their birthplace. Portillo’s state-of-the-art winery is largely built of local materials, including stones quarried from a nearby valley. This enables the facility to better blend in with the surrounding environment. Built on three levels, each 16 feet deep, with much of the facility concealed below ground, Portillo is also notable for its employment of a gravity-flow system. This minimizes handling of grapes and helps protect the integrity of the fruit. The facility’s ingenious design, which takes careful advantage of the gentle slopes on which it is built, is thought to be unique in South America. Production Area This cabernet sauvignon was made entirely from hand-harvested grapes from select plots on our vineyard estate Finca El Portillo, located at 3,610 feet above sea level. Soils are alluvial, atop a gravel bed with good permeability and drainage. Grape Varieties 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vinification The grapes are hand-harvested to preserve the optimum freshness of the fruit. After destemming, the grapes are transferred to stainless steel tanks, where cold maceration takes place at a temperature of 45 -50°F. Fermentation lasts for 10 to 15 days. After fermentation, the wine is racked by gravity, with no pumping, and is aged in stainless steel tanks. Color Ruby red Bouquet Dark fruits emboldened by black pepper create an invitingly fruit-forward nose Taste A lush mouthfeel of redcurrant and cherry, followed by a balanced and silky finish Alcohol 14% Serving Suggestions A wonderful match for red meat, lamb dishes and robust vegetarian entrees

What do you get when you combine a half-century of winemaking expertise, the dramatic landscape and terroir of northern Italy, and a profound enjoyment of the good things in life? The answer is simple: the CAVIT COLLECTION, source of America’s #1 Italian wine. Through the years, savvy wine lovers have come to depend on the CAVIT COLLECTION as their favorite “go-to” source for stylish, elegant and versatile wines, perfect for any occasion. This stellar range of high-quality, food-friendly wines is produced at the Cavit winery in Trentino, a picturesque landscape of mountains, lakes, apple orchards and medieval castles. Vineyards in this region enjoy the warming effects of the "Ora del Garda," a dry, balmy breeze that sweeps across Lake Garda and protects the fruit from external moisture and disease. Contrastingly cool evenings promote rich, intense aromas and flavors in the grapes. Winemaking is overseen by Anselmo Martini, a 20+ year industry veteran and one of northern Italy’s top enologists. Production Area Grapes for this wine are harvested in the Atesino Valley in the province of Trentino, northeast Italy. Conditions here favor Cabernet, thanks to excellent sun exposure and a longer growing season. Grape Varieties 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinification Immediately after harvest, grapes undergo traditional fermentation in stainless steel, followed by an aging period of 12 months in oak barrels. Color Lively ruby red Bouquet Fragrant, appealing herbaceous aromas allied with bell pepper notes Taste Medium-bodied and fresh, with well-delineated fruit, smooth tannins and a clean, graceful finish Serving Suggestions A versatile accompaniment to red meats, stews and casseroles

Dating back to 1865, the 568-acre Intriga property in Chile’s Maipo Valley is planted entirely with Cabernet Sauvignon vines ranging in age from 10 to 50 years. Alberto Antonini, one of Italy’s premier consulting winemakers, works closely with Intriga winemaker Cristian Correa on crafting this very limited production Cabernet Sauvignon. Intriga belongs to a carefully nurtured collection of vineyard properties in Chile’s premier wine regions, arising from an alliance between brothers Hernan and Eduardo Gras and their winemaking partner, Cristian Hartwig, owners of Vina MontGras in Colchagua Valley. Production Area Maipo Valley, Chile Grape Varieties 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vinification Grapes were hand-picked during the third week in April and cold-soaked for 4 days. The juice underwent temperature-controlled fermentation with frequent pumping over, and was in contact with the skins for a total of 22 days. The resulting wine was aged in a combination of French (70%) and American (30%) oak for a period of 14 months. 75% of the barrels were new, 25% second use. Color Deep ruby with purple notes Bouquet Ripe currant and cassis with a touch of bittersweet chocolate, mint and elegant vanilla Taste Rich and powerful, with ripe, juicy tannins that give this wine an elegant texture Alcohol 14.6% Serving Suggestions Delicious with steak, grilled red meats and hearty pasta dishes.
