Big dark fruit, vanilla and cedar nose. Medium plus palate with blackberry, currant, and mocha. Medium plus smooth finish. (359 views) Tasted by TastesGoodToMe on 10/31/2012 & rated 87 points: Very pleasant drinker. But nothing compared to the '08 which I think was one of the best sub $20 bottles of wine in the entire Napa vintage. Was hoping they would do it 2 years in a row - oh well... (430 views) Tasted by moega on 10/29/2012 & rated 84 points: Just OK, a little thin and not very complex. (501 views) Tasted by Newby on 10/9/2012 & rated 90 points: Exceptional value. Balanced. Fruit forward with a nice finish. Even better the 2nd night at room temperature served from bottle. (378 views) Tasted by Euell Gophar on 10/9/2012 & rated 89 points: Dark fruit, rich nose with raisins, mild tannins and an overall great value for under $20. (837 views) Tasted by randy082054 on 9/13/2012 & rated 90 points: Popped, aerated and drank over 2 nights. Black fruit on the nose and palate. Smooth mouthfeel and a nice finish. Great QPR here. (1204 views) Tasted by TexasBob on 9/12/2012 & rated 87 points: Dark bloody water red. Very mild nose with spice and red fruit scents. Pleasant, some raisin/fig notes, some coffee, some blackberry and blueberry. The coffee especially comes out in the finish. Not built for aging - I would drink over the next 3-6 years. (1150 views)
Very dark, somewhat murky color. Quite woody nose with a kind of leesy note. Very pleasant on the palate. It spreads over the tongue and imparts some blackberry/cassis flavors. Tannins are very will contained but are sufficient along with some acid to give good structure. US$16.99 at Costco a year ago.

A locker room nose at opening. As sour notes tame over the first hour, strong wafts of coffee emerge to dominate the increasingly pleasant arrangement of cherry, mocha, and burnt caramel aromas. At two hours, the perfumes separate further and provide additional details. Green forest floor swirls with wet, musty moss and moist bark to provide a rainy woods background to the increasingly strong coffee, now espresso, mixed with notes of burnt caramel and toasted marshmallows. The palate starts sharp and bitter on the back with cassis and black currant reinforcing the astringent cast to the flavor collage. Tangy cherry emerges at an hour, adding savory fruitiness. Strong coffee, bitter at first, emerges to take stage center. The wine reaches new heights at two hours, with finish lengthening as complexity grows.
Complex wine. Spiciness on the nose. Tight on the palate with sour cherry flavors. Firm tannins.
This is a big, heavy wine with lots of spice, dried cherry and notes of vanilla. This is fruit forward with a touch of astringency on the finish. Overall very good.

A pretty, polished and tasty wine for drinking now. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s dry, full-bodied and smooth, with blackberry, currant, dark chocolate, green olive and oak flavors.
Floral scents of violets brighten this wine’s dark tones, lifting the bass notes of tannins and their generous dark-roast coffee character. It’s full in the middle, lightening up in the finish, ready to pour with hanger steak.
Good price for a Napa Valley Cabernet this distinguished. It’s rich and satisfying in blackberry, black currant and blueberry fruit, with a lovely coat of smoky oak. Shows lots of complexity, and the finish is dry and spicy. Could go the distance, but just to be safe, drink over the next six years.
This starts out as a broad, generous wine with the fruit held tightly in the middle, ripe red and pomegranate-black flavors that merge with air into a big blue wine cushioned by its tannins. There’s a juniper-like wood spice in the finish to point up braised pork.
A perpetual Best Buy, Buehler Vineyards is Napa Valley’s best kept secret. John Buehler started the winery in the ‘70’s and has been producing stellar wines and pricing them right ever since. The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this wine are sourced 30% from their hillside estate vineyard and the rest from high-quality low-yield vineyards in the valley that they have long term contracts with. Aging is in French and American oak barrels for a total of 18 months. Wine & Spirits Magazine scored it 90 points and a Best Buy saying "This starts out as a broad, generous wine.with the fruit held tightly in the middle, ripe red and pomegranate-black flavors that merge with air into a big blue wine cushioned by its tannins. There is juniper-like wood spice in the finish to point up braised pork."
Brimming with fruit aromas and flavors biased to the black fruit end of the Cabernet spectrum: plums, blackberry, black currant. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, this Cabernet drinks well on release but will soften and develop with additional age.
Excellent balance, richness and complexity are evident in this ripe, supple young wine. Elegant and polished, its strength lies in its delicacy and finesse, with potent currant, cassis, spice and pretty floral aromatics. On the finish, the flavors are long and persistent. Drink now through 2012.
