Bodegas Sierra Cantabria Tempranillo Blend Rioja Amancio 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

97 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): The 2004 Amancio is a step above the 2005. It offers a nose which is already sexy and complex with expressive spice, wild flowers, and dark fruit aromas. Plush, bordering on voluptuous on the palate, it will continue to blossom for another 3-4 years and drink well through 2029. Collectors will no doubt enjoy comparing these 2 vintages in another 10-12 years. (Jun 2010)

Sierra Cantabria has made its wine under this brand since 1957, from its 90 hectares of vineyards. It has an average age of 35 years and is situated in a unique location, between the River Ebro and the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. This mountain range has given the name to the winery and protects the vineyard from the cold winds from the north, creating a specific microclimate for the cultivation of the vines and therefore providing a differentiated personality to our wines.
