Bodegas Santa Ana Torrontés 2009
The grapes for this wine are sourced exclusively from within the Santa Ana estate vineyards in Cuyo, overshadowed by the Andean mountain range in Mendoza. The grapes are crushed into steel tanks and fermented at cool, controlled temperatures and bottled without oak ageing. The resulting wine is bright, pale gold in colour with flashes of green at the rim. The nose is powerfully aromatic with an array of wildflower and tropical fruits. Medium bodied, fruity and crisp, well balanced with a clean finish this wine drinks great as a glass by itself but will also pair well with shellfish, pasta with a white wine based sauce or spicy Eastern influenced dishes. An excellent choice to accompany rich fish dishes, especially shellfish, or creamy cheese sauces.
good for a 13.5% white. my wife and non-wine drinker friends like drinking it 3 parts torrontes/1 part cranberry or cran-raspberry juice. it's actually pretty delicious.
Three and a half glasses
this wine is simply delicious, citrus/grapefruit with floral /lavender, wonderful for the sunny summertime, will not keep you warm in winter (it is what it is)..enjoy
Jasmin and citrus in nose, taste like lemon, nectarine and green pepper in the end. Really fresh. Good quality-price relationship. It was wonderful with the smoked salmon and mascarpone baguette.
Pale lemon yellow with hints of green, pronounced nose: predominantly floral with stone fruit, palate pronounced, stone fruit, citrus (lime) and green fruit at the edges, good acidity and very good length
