At first I was a little disappointed but as the wine opened the cherry, spice and honeyed notes started to rise up and with a little swirling it got going at the it developed into the Top 100 WS wine that it should. The honey note was particularly satisfying at the end - drink or hold. Paul 90 points

Textbook Albarino. Delectable citrus, saline, and bread dough aromas. Flavors of apple, more dough, and citrus, and a salt spray finish. A knockout with clams. Very, very good first effort from Bodegas Montecillo, with the typical BM attention to heritage and varietal correctness. Every element in perfect balance. Excellent QPR.

Clear and pale yellow in color with tinges of green. The nose is a cornucopia of bright fruit, including grapefruit, apple, pear and pineapple, with an underpinning of citrus. In the mouth this wine is rich, a touch salty, and very fresh. Well balanced, crisp and flavorful with clear notes of lychee and grapefruit, finishing long with a nice grip of acidity.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine called it "One of the best under $15 Albarinos going." and we agree. Dry, crisp and loaded with melon and citrus flavors. In The Wine Spectator, Matt Kramer puts Rias Baixas Albarino on his "bucket list" of wines you have to try, so here's your chance to enjoy one at a great value price. Finally Wine Enthusiast Magazine scoring it 87 points said “Fresh smelling, with notes of green melon, apple, honey and minerals. It’s more simple than complex, with crisp apple and orange flavors and then a chunky, slightly pithy finish. For under $15 this is good, casual Albariño that won’t steer you wrong.”

An Astor favorite for years. Soft and smooth, with ripe cherry and mellow oak flavors that are great with a broad range of simply flavored meat and vegetable dishes.

Still a traditional oaky (not too much) white wine that is wonderful with simple chicken or vegetable dinner. Very dry and very pleasant.

A great opportunity to taste an aged red without beaking the bank. You will detect olives, mushroom, oregano and nutmeg on the nose. The palate has notes of dried fruit and savory spices with soft tannins and balanced acidity.
