Benziger Family Winery Chardonnay Sonoma Coast Sangiacomo Vineyard 2009
Wonderful toasty hazelnut nose with creme bruleé, baked apples and some citrus peel over hints of toasty oak. On the palate, it starts with a nice vibrant crispness. Good acid, and juicy layers of peach, apple, pear, and custard. There are almost hints of a salty parmesan cheese. The salinity gives way on the back to more crisp acid. Nice spice edge on the finish. Very tasty. 6/13/12
