Banknote the Vault Napa Valley Red Blend 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

The vault is full bodied and bursting with ripe, concentrated wild berries and black currants on the front end. the structured mid-palate layers flavors of sweet oak, wild strawberries, black pepper and spices, finishing off the back end with vanilla, caramel and buttery tannins that make the vault as well-balanced as it is complex. Drink the vault now or hold for 10-12 years.

Amazing sturdiness with intense blackberry and currant flavors. this has the structure to age for at least another 5 years but is drinking great right now. 20 minutes of decanting will do the trick. I paired this with meatballs and a baked potato. This wine is an abslolute steal at $30 and has the same quality as wines like Silver Oak and Caymus which are twice the price.

Nice blend! Much more fruit forward than The Prisioner (which is another great wine). Orin Swift has some competition with this wine!

Jammy but rustic, offering wild berry, sage and licorice aromas with firm blackberry, loam and cedar flavors that finish with tight tannins. Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2010 through 2014. 585 cases made. 62% Zinfandel, 25% Syrah, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon
