Altovinum Evodia Grenache 2008
'[''A superb value'' Stephen Tanzer] Inky purple. Very fresh' bright aromas of raspberry and blackberry plus a hint of cracked pepper. Juicy and tannin-free with spicy red and dark berry flavors and gentle mineral lift. Easy to drink and a superb value with a good finishing bite......Altovinum is a new project - a joint partnership between legends Eric Solomon Jean Marc Lafage and Yolanda Diaz. Sourcing fruit from the highest elevation in Spain from a subregion called Atea. Enjoy with cheese or your favorite grilled fare.
This wine had great combinations right out of the gate, and got even better in time after breathing a bit. I am a fan. Berries and luscious fruit combined with leather and spice, with vanilla beans and a hint of toffee in the finish. Its a pretty wine, too.
My Rating 88 : This wine ha a powerful nose that some how is like perfume. My wife hates it I like it. Taste is balanced and very dry.the acid is on the strong side though. Interesting wine in the generic pool of all the same tastes! Recommend ! At Costco Orlando only $ 8.99!!!!!!
Bought this with a 20% off 6 pack deal in Wayland MA. There is some good runny legs with this! I have to say it's SMOOTH, so smooth! Velvet like to the lips, it just feels good from the lips to the tongue to the belly, even the label feels good. I just want to say it's a great wine! If I find it for under $15 it's worth the price!
