Abeja Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley Reserve 2009
Amazing, well balanced to enjoy with a variety of food
A varietal Cabernet that exhibits the brooding depth this variety can achieve: grilled meat, toasted boule bread, savory herbs, crushed blackberries, cigar wrapper and fresh leather swirl into a delicious, harmonious flavor field with a persistent finish.
Seemed almost more like a Pinot Noir than a cab. Very laid back, not overpowering, yet strong enough to hold up to a meal. Nice flavors.
Excellent bottle. Full bodied and smooth
Great Cab, one of the best I tried

The name Abeja, which means bee, is meant to reflect the passion and care wine-maker John Abbott has for the land that produces this delicious Cab.
Ripe, supple and expressive, offering a mouthful of tobacco-accented cherry, currant and floral aromas and flavors that sail effortlessly over modest tannins into the long, balanced finish. Drink now through 2014. 2,800 cases made
Rich in texture, with polished tannins framing a complex range of flavors, centering on black cherry, with hints of coffee, rare beef and clove as the finish lingers effortlessly. Drink now through 2015. 2,240 cases made.
Abeja is the new project from the former winemaker of Canoe Ridge and Acacia, John Abbott. The cépage this year has a tiny bit of Merlot-4%--and the rest is Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a big, rich wine coming from a great vintage in Washington. The nose has ripe raspberry and plum aromas seasoned with sweet oak. The palate is broad and rich. The finish has big tannins balanced by impressive acidity.
