Abbots Red Table Owen Roe 2008
A rich yet easy drinking red wine that can be paired with the broadest range of foods. The Zinfandel component pairs beautifully with zesty Italian fare. The Bordeaux varieties scream for hearty beef dishes while the Sangiovese makes the Abbot's Table perfect with lamb and game. Of course the Syrah and Malbec work masterfully with spicy cuisine. Then again the Abbot's Table just tastes great by itself!
Since our first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe winery has been working to produce exceptional, hand crafted wines. We are especially committed to the low vigor hillside vineyards of Yakima Valley Washington. These vineyards yield fruit with low pH and high acidity, both harbingers of age-able wines.

25% Zinfandel, 20% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah, 13%, Grenache, 7% Blaufrankish, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, 1% Merlot Smells very much like roast beef, right out of the bottle. The lightly game notes are joined by hints of candlewax, herbs, quinine and black fruits. Lush and soft on entry with a medium-bodied, transparent feel to the wine. This is supple and broad with lovely mineral, game, and medicinal notes accenting the jammy wild berry fruit. There’s a hint of cough lozenge cherry on the mid-palate that leads to a lightly spicy, light jammy but still fresh wild strawberry and cherry finish that ends with a touch of white chocolate. Intriguingly complex and attractively fresh. 89pts

From a devoted winemaker and from great vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, this red will bring you much pleasure. A tasty blend made of Syrah, Pinot Noir, Zin and perhaps more. Beautiful and packed with fleshy black fruit character. A good dose of tannins make this a wine to stand up to a variety of hearty meals. Hold for a few years or drink up today.
Owen Roe Abbots Table 2008 - Abbots Table 2008 is the perfect example of a "smooth" wine. Velvety, lush, round flavors glide over your taste buds. The Zinfandel and Sangiovese provide the backbone and show in the lingering finish of sweets plums, raspberries and cherries. More than a third of the 08 Abbots is Bordeaux varietals - the deep cassis and black cherry flavors are a perfect complement to the fresh, bright red fruits. Theres a meaty complexity to the finish that adds even more character to an already outstanding value table wine. Upon release, the 2008 is better than the 2007 and just might be the best Abbots Table yet.
