Wines I did not buy today

Or how I intend to spend your money this year

Wines I did not buy today I don't know if you noticed my New Year's resolutions, but one of them was to stop buying wine for a year. At least wine for my cellar, so instead I'll be shopping for wine and then sharing what I find with you all so you can scoop up my really great deals!

I may not post things every day, but you can expect a steady stream of notable wine offers that I sift through ona daily basis to pique my interest, and make this list.

359 more days to go!

  • Dear GDP,

I admire your courage & resolution.
I would pair the Il Maroneto with fresh pata al duck ragu & Les Pitures with sweetbreads & wild mushrooms.
Ok I'll buy both of them.
    ¡Salud¡

  • I think this is a great idea. Even better, auction/sell your services off each month quarter whatever, and be the gun for hire in various 'private' or restaurant cellars. If Bill Gates were your client, He'd give you guidance, then you'd spend your month/quarter what ever interval works for you testing buying, explaining, and push young Bill on splurging on those $500+ wines that are crazy talk for middle America. Say Emeril hires you to freshen up his wine selection for his restaurant, You write about the guidance, availability and profit margin, then go to Argentina for wines to compliment his Cajun menu. Finally, if dusty trails was your client, he'd set a price range, and you'd find solid values in that $10-$15, Maybe talk about turning his beer fridge in the garage into a 'trailer park' wine cellar. Then toward the end of the period you could push him to bust the Social Security budget, and spurge on that $29.95 monster Zinfandel of his dreams... It is tough writing fresh on a very exposed subject. Please don't review wines of murder victims, B-list movie stars, or Wall Street type hidden cellars whilst their in prison or Belize. You have always dreamed of a 'reality TV wine show' go for it good hunting -Dusty
