Sometimes the simple things in life are what one needs to bring them back to reality. After spending a week tasting some of the greatest (and most punishing) young wines on earth, something fresh, crisp and well, slightly sweet can revitalize the palate - and the mind.

Moscato tends to have a bit of a damaged reputation here in the States, but this lightly sweet, fresh, easy to love wine is really an affordable treat!

Whether with brunch, dessert, or just watching the day go by, Moscato d'Asti easily puts a smile on one's face, and this 2010 version by Oddero is among the best in the market.

Fresh and crisp with gentle orchard fruit tones on the nose, framed by hints of powdered sugar, lime leaf and an herbal top notes, this explodes on the palate with wonderfully aromatic, sweet Meyer lemon-toned fruit that has great sweet/tart energy right through the long, sugar-lengthened finish. It's not the greatest wine in the world, but it is incredibly delicious!
