Central London winery London Cru is preparing to purchase 3,000 kilos of Bacchus wine grapes from Sandhurst Vineyard in Southern England. Once the grapes are delivered to its facilities in London, the company will have just enough fine grapes to produce over 2000 bottles of still wine. 

The move stands as a testimony to London Cru’s ambition to expand – an inevitable course of action that market watchers were expecting to see ever since the company had received a rather warm reception from critics for its maiden attempt at producing top-notch wine in a boutique cellar using grapes imported from Southern France and Italy. 
'It's such a good harvest that we said, if we're ever to try it, then this is the year…. We tried last year but we couldn't find grapes with the right spec,' said Gavin Monery, London Cru's Australian-born winemaker, as reported by the Decanter.
According to reports, the first Bacchus grapes for London Cru has already been harvested on September 29, 2014 and is likely to reach the company’s facilities in the morning of September 30.
A number of English wine makers have stated that they are optimistic about the 2014 harvest. That’s primarily because of a favorable weather during almost the entire growing season.
