Two Hands Virtual Tasting

With Michael Twelftree and the wines of Two Hands

We are very excited to be bringing Michael Twelftree to you live, for a worldwide virtual tasting Tuesday January 19th. In case you are not familiar with Michael, he is the winemaker for Australia’s Two Hands Wines.

Michael, with Partner Richard Mintz, founded Two Hands with a simple goal in mind, to do what Australia does best: to make exceptional Shiraz based wines from some of the country’s greatest vineyards.  In the face of a movement towards a standardization of Aussie Shiraz, Two Hands has chosen to march down a different path, working tirelessly to capture the unique expressions that each region are capable of producing.

We are thrilled to be able to taste along with Michael, live on Tuesday January 19th as we explore the details and nuances of several of these fine wines. To help you taste along with us, Uncorked.com is offering the wines being featured in the tasting at 20% off their regular price. And to sweeten the deal, through January 31st, you can also use our exclusive checkout code "Snooth20" to receive a 20% discount on all the great Two Hands Wines in stock.

Join the Virtual Tasting to Win

All participants in our live virtual tasting will be entered to win a Framed Gnarly Dudes Lithographic Print that Michael will personally sign for you!  One winner will be selected from participants logging in that evening.

Experience some of Australia's finest Shiraz

Lily’s Garden 2007
With their Garden Series, Two Hands bring you some of the purest, classical expressions of Australian Shiraz in the marketplace. The 2007 Lily's Garden is no exception, it's just exceptional. The combination of great McLaren Vale fruit and a very judicious use of American oak barels has produced a wine full of bright fruit and spice notes with a silky, elegant feel. This is a wine that represents all that is right with Australian Shiraz, don't miss this chance to taste it along with Michael.

Two Hands Picture Series
Australia is of course known for it’s Shiraz, and the McLaren Vale and Barossa are arguably the two finest growing regions for this important variety. By comparing and contrasting wines from each region, Michael will not only be offering unique insights to his wines, but will also be teaching us all about the distinct terroir of each region. Don’t miss this great opportunity to taste along with, and learn from one of Australia’s premier winemakers.

  • Just curious about the vintages that Two Hands are featuring. I went to see if we could acquire them through our distributor (we are a catering company with a liquor license to buy wholesale). We had hoped to host an event during the virtual tasting and offer the same deal that uncorked.com was featuring. We currently do not have the vintages that will be tasted available to us. Any advise?

    Thanks!

    Hi Chef,

Where are you located? Perhaps you can special order them in time through your distributor? If not I would suggest tasting the vintages you have on hand. Michael will be able to answer your questions about the wines and maybe we can get him to try a back vintage or tow along with you. I would be very interested in hearing about other vintages from both you and him! Let me know what vintages are available to you and I'll see if there's anything I can do.

Hugh, where are you in Canada?

Looks like some of the wines are available at:

Really cool! I'm interested in tasting along with Michael. How does it work...do I need to download specific software, or just log onto snooth.com on 1/19 at 8 pm EST?

  • Looks really terrific. I love wine tasting. Cannot wait for the weather to change in to spring and get out more to some wineries.
