Sobon flies under the radar a bit when it comes to Zinfandel, but the wines are gorgeous, not over-done, pure and expressive. Add in the fact that these are super affordable, are produced from sustainably farmed estate vineyards and represent Amador County’s great Zinfandel heritage, and you’ll see why Sobon continually graces my table.
These are the stalwarts, the fall backs, the warm hearth and meatloaf wines that are there when you need reminding. Reminding that wine doesn’t have to be big or expensive, in a flashy package, or made by the hottest new winemaker to be good. It just has to be honest, expressive and balanced, like Sobon’s Zinfandels.
This is the Sunday Sauce of Zinfnadel.
