Bucklin’s Old Hill Ranch is very likely the oldest Zinfandel vineyard in California. Like the Ridge wines, this bottling is a field blend featuring varying amounts of some two dozen varieties! No one will be planting anything like this anytime soon, and these ancient vines are very likely lost clones of many of the grapes. The result is a singular wine that is deep yet elegant, with amazing richness and complexity that comes from the tiny crop these ancient vines manage to produce.
