Domaine René Leclerc
With a relatively large group of vineyards totaling over 12 hectares, the wines of René Leclerc (save tiny amounts of his Grand Cru Griotte-Chambertin) are generally readily available, which translates into affordability as well. I know I am somewhat at odds with many of my wine loving friends with my fondness for René Leclerc’s wines, but they seem to bring together fruit, soil and a touch of wine making with wonderful brightness and drive. These are wines that seem neither modern nor traditional, neither structured nor fruit-driven, simply pure and pretty intense to boot. And they remain very affordable!
