Robert Parker has come out and anointed the chosen few, or so that few in this case. 2009 is the best vintage since 1982 as far as Bordeaux is concerned, and to prove it Parker has bestowed the magical 100 point core on no less than 16 wines. Too bad Parker doesn't really care about the consumer. If he did, perhaps we would see less grandstanding and grade inflation in wine reviews.
Don't be fooled folks, these great scores aren't for you. They are for those who matter: Those who make money off of wine reviews, the sale of wine and the cellaring of wine.
