Barbados

Barbados is like the Bermuda of the Caribbean. It is British, formal and on the stuffy side, at least when it comes to warm tropical islands. With that formality comes something special, like the chance to dress up and dine like adults used to dine. Barbados has two fine restaurants that spring to mind: Daphne’s is an Italian highpoint in an otherwise Caribbean and French influenced culinary corner of the Caribbean (the English can be credited with recognizing their limitations in this field!), and The Cliff.

The Cliff is one of the world’s great restaurants, located in one of the world’s great locations. It’s a bucket list kind of restaurant with a bucket list kind of wine list, one that I have yet to cross off my list!

My favourite is taking a bareboat from Tortola for a week or two for some island hopping. But you need to source (the good) wines before leaving the port.

It's amazing that you dealt only with the anglophone islands (forgive me, but St Martin/St Maarten doesn't count as non-anglophone). The best food and wine in the Caribbean is found on Martinique, Guadeloupe, and St Barth's by far; it's not even close.
