Day 4

Domaine Hubert Lignier Bourgogne Aligoté 2015
Aligoté, Bourgogne’s “other” white wine grape, accounts for just about 5 percent of vineyard area in the region. These bottles are a fine and rare treat for wine drinkers of all stripes. The wines tend to be high in acidity, low in alcohol and extra-pleasing to lovers of bright tart flavors. Most of the Aligoté grapes under the Bourgogne Aligoté AC (Appellation Contrôlée) hail from Chablis, Côte d’Or, and Côte Chalonnaise. Generous aromatics of pineapple and peach with a floral freshness and hints of lemon zest. Nicely creamy mouthfeel with good weight and a smooth texture - flavors are lightly nutty with citrus notes of lemon and herbal notes of lemongrass. Good complexity but also quite approachable with excellent balance, overall a lovely wine. 90 pts. SRP: $22.

  • Nice article, but would be truly helpful if buying opportunities were included. Where can we purchase these wines?

I had the Cremant di Bourgogne many years ago and truly enjoyed it.
It is impossible to find in the Rhode Island and ct. area. Even though these are not expensive, the distribution in this area is terrible.
