Day 1

Cave Bailly Lapierre Crémant de Bourgogne Reserve Brut

There’s no better way to kick off the 12 Days of Bourgogne than a bottle of sparkling wine. Crémant de Bourgogne, produced in the traditional method using whole bunch pressing, is an oftentimes overlooked value from one of the world’s most skilled winemaking regions. It is a blend of the region’s key grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay, and Aligoté. The wine sat on the lees for an entire year. Lively lemon and herb aromas with a light biscuit note. Crisp, light and citrus fruited on the palate with zippy acidity, a sharp palate of lemon, grapefruit and tart nectarine, this has a medium bodied palate of sharp bubbles and the fresh fruit leaves the mouth with a refreshing reminder of cut flowers, spice and light cream. SRP: $16.

  • Nice article, but would be truly helpful if buying opportunities were included. Where can we purchase these wines?

I had the Cremant di Bourgogne many years ago and truly enjoyed it.
It is impossible to find in the Rhode Island and ct. area. Even though these are not expensive, the distribution in this area is terrible.
