Domaine Costal Chablis Les Truffieres Chablis 2014
The Chablis appellation is a household name when it comes to quality Chardonnay. The limestone clay soils in this area have created flavors that cannot be produced anywhere else – that includes nearby areas in Bourgogne itself. Renowned wine mechant and two-time James Beard award winner Kermit Lynch, a California native, partnered with producer Domaine Jean-Collet on this stellar Chablis. The twenty-year old Chardonnay vineyard parcel used for this wine has been named "Truffieres" (truffles) to acknowledge the unique notes of black truffles in the wines. Oysters and Chablis go hand in hand. There’s no better pairing for New Year’s Day celebrations. Light mineral aromas of lemon zest and wet slate with a sea breeze freshness and hints of green apple. On the palate, clean clear and refreshing with lemonade and cool grapefruit pith notes, pure minerality and a juicy mid palate of melon, green apple and lime leaf with a finish of bright acidity and fresh cut grass. 90 pts. SRP: $30

  • Nice article, but would be truly helpful if buying opportunities were included. Where can we purchase these wines?

I had the Cremant di Bourgogne many years ago and truly enjoyed it.
It is impossible to find in the Rhode Island and ct. area. Even though these are not expensive, the distribution in this area is terrible.
