The 2010 growing season was colder and wetter than average because of La Niña weather pattern bringing lower than average temperatures. Alexander Valley and Knights Valley accumulated enough heat to ripen the Merlot fully, showing great fruit expression of fresh and dry blueberries.
Aromatics of dry cherries and dry blueberries, bittersweet chocolate and cedar commingling with tobacco. Red-blue fruit on the palate with notes of sage, peppercorns and a hint of licorice. Vibrant acidity, with firm tannins and a long finish. ~ The Winery ~
