It’s time to take Riesling seriously, and playfully. In fact take it any way you want.
Honeysuckle, almond, mineral, jasmine and lime aromas pop from the glass. A bit soft in the mouth at first, this seems to be lacking a smidge of acidity though it’s very easy drinking with flavors that have a peachy cast to them. Nice minerality emerges on the mid-palate with some green apple and green nut flavors that yield to a modest, dusty mineral and lime toned finish. The aromatic here are great but this stumbles a bit in the mouth, though it is super approachable and quaffable. 87pts
Rather subtle and complex in the nose with a warm savory dried herb and spice note with hints of candied green walnuts and bake apple fruit topped with a touch of lemon juice. On the sweet side, there’s enough acid to keep this lively but the texture is a bit viscous and the flavors lean towards baked apple and dried fruit with a nice candied lime peel accents. The finish shows attractive citrus pith and mineral note that cut through the sweetness, along with some pineapple peel but going back to this I am struck by how sweet it seems. Medium dry on the back label I would have pegged this as medium sweet. 87pts
Dusty and earthy on the nose with dried rose petal, thistle and balsamic aromas. Sweet and smooth in the mouth with enough acidity to add some liveliness to the citrus flavors but not enough to lighten up the texture. there’s some nice apple, lemon and peach flavors here but they are pretty simple and disappear quickly on the modest finish. 84pts
Tight and chalky on the nose with faint aromas of white fruits, apples and flowers. Sweet on entry and rather viscous in the mouth this has some treale flavors early on the palate followed by peach jam and baked apple. rather soft in the mouth, this could use some more acid to liven things up a bit. There’s actually probably a good amount of acid here, just not enough to balance the sweetness which does support some attractive baked apple and orange marmalade flavours on the backend that pick up a hint of balsamic spice before ending rather quickly on the short and sweet finish. 83pts
Dry and ungenerous on the nose with faint aromas of key lime pie and apricot glaze topped with a hint of sage. Small in scale and finely focused with a nice clean core of fruit. Dry and moderately acid driven in the mouth this is quite refreshing with modest citrus with and vaguely strawberry flavors but it’s not complex or particularly deep on the palate. The finish is very clean but short with apple flavors. A lovely patio wine. 85pts
Very floral and frankly balsamic on the nose with a resin cast over a base of apricot fruit. Succulent and focused in the mouth with acid driven flavor of lemon and lime that pick up a hint of melon and pineapple with some air. This is dry and firm in the mouth, though it finishes rather quickly on a green apple peel note. Very refreshing 85pts
