5 delicious selections from the Hudson Valley perfect for Spring

2010 Millbrook Proprietor’s Special Reserve Chardonnay Hudson river region 13%

Rather oaky on the nose with slightly dried dark fruits and melon, peach and citrus pith aromas. A little milky and vanilla accented as well. This is pretty well rounded on entry, though it is rich and very finely balanced. There’s fine ripe fruit here. Peach, orange and vanilla flavors are all underpinned by a nice base of wood spice. Creamy and smooth, this shows fine length and a certain elegance though the sweetness from the wood and vanilla imprint are quite pronounced. 89pts

  • Over the past three years I've been exploring wines from states other than California, Oregon and Washington so I enjoyed these two articles on NY State red and white wines. Would it be possible to: 1) provide some information on where these wines can be bought as well as their costs? 2) offer similar articles on wines from less familiar states like Virginia, Michigan, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachussetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, Idaho, etc? Thanks!
