Manhattan Cocktail Classic

Celebrating the art & craft of the mixed drink

What do you drink when you're not drinking wine? We've posed this question to winemakers and wine lovers, wine directors and store owners -- and the answer always arrives with a bit of a crooked smile. The vintners love beer, the retailers tell stories of ghostly green absinthe, of vodka made in airplane hangars.

And our readers, well: Our readers love a good martini.

So, in a toast to this unified scene of connoisseurs and boozehounds, we bring you a sneak peek of New York's finest celebration of spirits, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, coming up May 14 - 18. All wine drinkers will be welcomed with open arms.

Now in its second year, the Classic brings together bartenders, mixologists, and spirit enthusiasts for a four-day conference on the art and craft of the cocktail. Whatever's in your glass, there's a seminar that will give you a deeper understanding of both its history, and its future. Here are some of our can't-miss picks.
