King Estate

Reticent on the nose with vague hints of white pepper, oyster shell and low stemmy herbal notes. Bright and fresh in the mouth though this is a bit closed today. There’s fine balance between the integrated acidity and ripe, lush tannins. Astringent red currant and cranberry flavors slowly emerge on the palate along with flashes of raspberry and a little spicy herbal note that frames the modest finish. The structural components take control once again on the finish though this haunting red fruit note does stick around on the palate as well. Tough call on seeing where this goes. I wouldn’t drink this now without a long decant. Right now there’s not a lot going on. 88pts
