Notice how in this next ad the Champagne region of France completely disagreed. What could be more fun and provocative than a woman shooting Chardonnay out of her chest into a Champagne bottle? This ad, believed to be from 1930 by Stall, beautifully illustrated the French approach to selling wine: sexy, fun and provocative.

What a shame. There is no sexier beverage than red wine!

So if they say they plan to campaign to be more widely accepted, and already have a wholesome family friendly image, where can they go but to try to attract more younger beverage consumers?. And probably change to advertising with more sex-charged images.

Starting point for a US producer: not everyone drinks wine. We need to teach them that they should.
Starting point for an Italian producer: everyone drinks wine at home. Let's make it fun and sexy like beer and spirits to take it out of homes and restaurants and into the "entertainment" sphere.
