You might be familiar with Hop Kiln Winery, I am certainly familiar with their wines and have been since way back. Their Petite Sirahs have always been fist rate and their Hoot Owl Vineyard Cabernet was an early favorite of mine, but those are just memories. Things are changing at Hop Kiln and their new winemaker, Chuck Mansfield, is leading the way.
I grabbed a few minutes with Chuck during the recent Sonoma Wine Country Weekend. With an eye on another generation of drinkers and a renewed focus on the wines of today, HKG Estate Russian River Pinot Noir and even Pinot Gris for example, Chuck explained how Hop Kiln is in a position to make the most of the trends that are pushing today's market.
Check out the full video for all the details on the Hop Kiln's HKG Estate house style and what they're doing to attract a changing demographic.
If you want to learn more abut the wines, and the Russian River area, listen to Chuck describe how the character of the region makes it such a unique and special place for Pinot Noir. Then find out where to buy their HKG Pinot Noir here on Snooth!
