Frei Brothers Reserve has been producing award-winning wines for over 30 years that delight the senses and nurture the Earth, and on Wednesday, April 20 at 6 p.m. PDT, Snooth’s New York City-based editor Greg Dal Piaz will join the winery’s Sonoma-based chief viticulturist Jim Collins for the world’s first-ever Coast-to-Coast Toast to Earth Day.
Tune in live and taste along with Greg and Jim as they pour through a selection of Frei Brothers Reserve’s exceptional varietals and discuss how Frei Brothers Reserve has been making thoughtful, earth-friendly choices that help preserve the region’s land and resources without compromising the quality of the wine.
The four varietals that will be tasted and discussed can be purchased at your local retailer or online with a great Earth Day discount here, and include:
• 2009 Frei Brothers Reserve Russian River Valley Chardonnay
• 2007 Frei Brothers Reserve Dry Creek Valley Merlot
• 2009 Frei Brothers Reserve Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
• 2009 Frei Brothers Reserve Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
As the first-ever viticulturist to join Greg in a virtual tasting, Jim will offer first-hand accounts and behind-the-scenes insight on life at Frei Ranch in Healdsburg, Calif. (He actually lives there!) As you sip and learn about each varietal’s unique sub-AVA, Jim will also take the time to share Frei Brothers Reserve’s sustainability journey with the world by discussing some of the winery’s innovative practices like water stewardship and carbon emission reduction.
Jim will also share with viewers how they can catch the premiere of a series of exciting online videos about Frei Brothers Reserve’s sustainable winemaking efforts. Debuting soon will be a look at the winery’s “50/50 Give Back” land management policy; that is, for every acre of land planted to vineyard, Frei Brothers Reserve sets aside another acre for natural wildlife habitat. It’s an uplifting look at the importance of using the land without using it up.
“We truly believe that better choices and better wine go hand-in-hand, today and for generations to come,” says Collins. “We’re excited to be able to share our wine and our journey with the world next week, by raising a glass to Earth Day with Snooth!”
