Funky, earthy and deep on the nose with gently spicy, creamy root beer, cream soda accents to the light black raspberry and Italian plum aromas. Rich and zesty in the mouth with brilliant acids that set off the wild raspberry and cranberry fruit in the mouth. Rich with soft tannins, this gains an attractive fleshiness in the mouth but the flavors remains focused and crisp gaining a slightly salty mineral edge to them as they flow from the palate to the fresh if modest finish. This is my style of Pinot at this price point. Easy drinking though not flabby, fresh and with enough complexity to keep one’s interest, it just stumbles on the modest finish. 88pts
Steamy and floral on the nose with aromas of steeped tea and moist dark earthy laying under the core of rhubarb laced cherry and strawberry jam fruit. Smooth and a bit chewy with an elegant blend of black cherry and herbal, rhubarb flavors on the plate that gain some soil tones on the backend. This is a bit dense and matte in the mouth but the flavors remains fresh and precise if a touch low key. The finish is a bit short and shows a touch of dryness though it is accompanied by intriguing dried herb and medicinal accents. The finish is a bit hot though. Well done for a wine of this size but the alcohol does detract a bit for me. 88pts
Candied and licorice scented on first sniff with a medicinal edge to the earthy, dusty aromas of candied cranberry and wild cherry. Bright and focused in the mouth, this starts off with easy to like bright red flavors and gains some nice wood spice and gently floral notes in the mouth with a light citrus rind framing note. The finish is clean if modest with attractive complexity. Easy to like with a serious quality to the firm texture and lovely accents of licorice and citrus in the mouth. 88pts
Reticent on the nose with soil tones and shadings of old wood framing a low core of curranty fruit.Very fresh in the mouth with a wonderfully lively mouthfeel and gentle tea and dried herb inflected red berry fruit flavors on the palate. Eminently well balanced, this is very restrained and easy drinking with a lovely soil and stone quality on the finish which shows some nice wild bitter cherry notes as well. Very drinkable with a gorgeous mouthfeel, though it’s a light, soft wine. 87pts
Earthy and herbal on the nose with aromas that lean towards the tea and coriander end of the spectrom laced with ginger streaked jammy candied red cherry and strawberry fruit topped with a hint of lime zest. Zesty and slightly textured in the mouth with fine grained tannins that lay under a blanket of fresh, crisp fruit. there are some nice edgy earth tones here and a little spice accenting the cranberry fruit in the mouth. Light, fresh and easy to drink. This may be a bit simple but it got real energy in the mouth and a clean, fresh finish. 87pts
All earth, smoke and sweet herb stems on the nose with layers of rhubarb, beet root and tart berry fruit emerging with air. Showing fine balance in the mouth, this slides across the palate with suppleness showing of bright and earthy flavors of sour cherry, cranberry and rhubarb with just a little bit of a candied medical base note. Fresh tannins, a little stemmy and bracing emerge on the modest mineral driven finish. This is a sly little wine, smaller  scaled and while showing attractive complexity the flavors are subtle, but the wine does seem to dive down one’s gullet. I could drink this all day. 87pts
Clean, almost sharp on the nose with a subtle jammy edge to the slow to emerge black raspberry, orange marmalade and floral aromas that lay over a spicy, soy edged oak imprint. Round, seamless and easy in the mouth with lots of cranberry and wild cherry fruit. There’s a subtle touch of herb here along with some light milk chocolate notes and wood spice. A little four square in the mouth with a tight, somewhat dry, woody finish. 86pts
Stemmy and almost a bit minty on the nose with sage and balsam layered over vanilla framed raspberry fruit. Fres, precise and zesty on entry, this shows off super polished and supple tannins and sport plenty of well integrated acidity in a rather sleek and elegant package. The texture is just gorgeous, a hint of fleshiness, cherry and raspberry toned, wrapped around the taut, linear structure. Though the flavors are low key and restrained this does gain some nice soil tones on the back end that lead to a clean, refreshing that is brief if finish studded with fresh raspberry flavors. 86pts
Earthy, loamy and floral on the nose with fine underlying red fruit shaded with a touch of orange oil and some older wood. This enters the mouth with plenty of energy. The acidity lights up the palate, rich with high toned floral, raspberry and cranberry flavors. The wood creeps in on the midpalate lending this a slight creamy note and contributing some toasty, graham cracker spiciness and some drying wood tannins. The tannin really comes to be the most noticeable aspect on the  modest, drying finish. A shame since the fruit shows such promise on entry. 85pts
