Mendoza is one of the most famous regions for the production of Malbec, but the grape is widely planted throughout the country. Salta is an up and coming region, with high altitude vineyards that benefit from an abundance of sunlight producing an alternate expression of Malbec. The breadth of terriors available to winemakers is illustrated by the differences between Salta in the far north of the country and Patagonia in the far south.
