As many of you know, I’ve been impressed by many of the Cameron Hughes wines in the past. After recently tasting through many of their current offerings I’m happy to see that their offerings are as strong as ever. If anyone was in a position to benefit from the recent pressures on the high-end U.S. wine market it would have been someone with deep connections into the industry, and a reputation for bringing declassified juice to the market discretely. That’s Cameron Hughes and he is certainly finding values like never before.
The discretion Cameron Hughes shows has it’s price, and that price means killer values for the consumer. Simply put, Cameron Hughes is able to offer you high quality wines, from some of the most prestigious wineries in the country, without the fancy labels, packaging, marketing, and high prices. The wines currently on offer include Cabernets and a Zinfandel from a cross section of California’s greatest terroirs.
While the wines on offer are great, and I’ll get to them in a second, the deal Cameron Hughes is offering Snooth users is even better. Not only will Snooth members get a 15% discount off our special Snooth case (which includes a first of it’s kind pre-release for Snooth members), but they’ll also get free delivery. That means 12 bottles of excellent wine, delivered to your door for $153.00. That’s just over $12 a bottle. At that price I’m sure you want to know more about the wines so let’s give them a rundown.
First there’s the lone Zinfandel, the 2008 Lot 160 from Lodi ($11.00), Then there are the three Cabernet Sauvignons that begin with the 2006 Lot 146 from Napa’s Diamond Mountain District ($22.00). Next up is one of the first 2007 California Cabernets Cameron Hughes has released. In case you haven’t heard 2007 is a brilliant vintage for Cabernet in California and this Lot 138 from Santa Barbara ($12.00)is a great introduction to the vintage. but, of course, we’ve saved the best for last. As I mentioned earlier our Snooth sampler pack included a pre-release. The world will get to buy the 2007 Lot 147 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon ($15.00), or what’s left of it, after we’ve taken our share of this 375 case, limited production beauty.

Our Snooth Sampler Pack is on sale now and includes these great wines.Cameron Hughes Lot 160 2009 Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel
This surprises with its almost delicate expression of bright red fruits. It’s a Zin that delivers a lot of flavor without beating you over the head with alcohol and extract. In other words a classic, old school Zin perfect for the dinner table.
Cameron Hughes Lot 146 2006 Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
This is cut from the same cloth as the Zin in that it’s a surprisingly elegant and precise wine with great fruit supported by bright acidity. This is a wine destined to improve in the cellar but it’s drinking well already, exhibiting the classic earthy, dark cherry fruit notes of Diamond Mountain.
Including two great examples of California's wonderful 2007 vintage.Cameron Hughes Lot 138 2007 Santa Barbara Cabernet Sauvignon
This exhibits all the promise of the vintage with a great nose featuring notes of poblano chilies, vanilla and blueberry all backed up by a spicy, rich palate buffered with fuzzy tannins and a dark rich finish. It’s a great wine for the near term so stock up
Cameron Hughes 2007 Lot 147 Sonoma County Cabnernet Sauvignon
