Blanton’s Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Chairman’s Trophy-98 points

“Authoritative single barrel nose of dried fruits, brown spices and restrained vanilla; flavors of salted caramel, honey, walnuts, orange peel and milk chocolate. Stays creamy, even unctuous as the finish unfolds with a remarkable dryness and elevated citrusy conclusion. Ultimate sophistication in bourbon.”

Col. E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finalist-97 points

“Intense and potent with aromas of dark fruit, smoked meat and fruit cake); on the palate it’s expressive and powerful, more dry than sweet with notes of leather, tobacco and a tangy brininess. Finishes crisp and spicy, with cinnamon, clove and mace on board with prune leather and a touch of cocoa.”

Breckenridge Bourbon

Finalist-96 points

“Lustrous copper color. Splendidly lush cornmeal, English toffee, coffee bean and corn oil scents headline the aromatic phase. Multilayered flavor profile is rife with buttered popcorn and brown butter notes that last well into the robust finish.”

William Larue Weller 12 Years Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finalist-96 points

“Creamed corn, toasty oak, crushed almond and vanilla scents emerge in a massive and powerful eruption of a beautifully knit aged expression; the flavor profile is dry, complex and toasty, with a restrained sweetness and an intensely grainy and long finish. Intense and potent.”

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finalist-96 points

“Flowery and pretty opening offers hints of cedar shavings and brown sugar-coated almonds, while the flavors start moderately sweet, adding a bit of toasted bread, smoky oak and candied orange peel to the rounded corny sweetness and unsweetened cocoa at the finish.”

1792 Ridgemont Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finalist-95 points

“Enticing yet dry scents of leather, vanilla, coconut and black pepper, with a rich, sweet and sappy pine-like tang, followed by a flash of unsweetened cocoa powder, then oaky vanilla, and maple sap. Finishes crisp and full.”

Benjamin Prichard’s Double Barrel Bourbon

Finalist-95 points

“Attractive burnished orange hue. Opens up with big, comely maple, vanilla, buttered corn-on-the-cob and resin notes. In the mouth, the sinewy texture supports full-out tastes of oak, cocoa bean and caramel corn. Superb.”

Bulleit Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finalist-95 points

“Toasted rye, brown butter and an intense graininess lead the aroma array, with savory and spicy flavors of fresh sweet corn, nougat, buttered popcorn and brown sugar. Finishes with an intensely peppery tang and lots of long, corny/grainy tastes.”

Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Finalist-95 points

“Medium gold in color; the nose brings notes of butterscotch, clover, vanilla, and old leather. The big body bears a palate with an almost wine-like character that balances intense fruits, honey, and vanilla with a light spiciness that shows off the distiller's craft. The finish is long and warm.”
