  • The interview shows it all. You are in love with yourself, but your passion is Vino Italia! Having been an Engineer for 22 years before I started writing about wine, I look at wine from a "nuts and bolts" perspective. How are the grapes grown? How is the wine made? For the last eight years, I have written about wine, from the Editor's perspective of the Wine Social Scene, sneaking into blurbs about wine from my perspective. After receiving myriads of positive feedback from readers and the Texas Wine Meadia Award, my Editor lets me write almost "carte blance." You are welcome to peer into the mind of t he columnist behind WINE WALK, Houston Wine Walk, Texas Wine Walk, and Lake Wine Walk. I write two weekly wine columns in the newspapers and reach around 800,000 homes each week along with my wine articles for two monthly regional magazines. You are welcome to interview me provided I can interview you.

Clearly Gregory Dal Piaz is a complicated guy with a split personality and some very ambivalent attitudes to both himself and others and not just in relation to wine writers, bloggers and other assorted wine communicators. I hope you two sorted things out after the filming and managed to share a glass of your favourite red without such blatant rancour. I look forward to reading, seeing and hearing more of the dialogue you are developing whether it be between yourselfs or a third party, if they can squeeze a word in here and there and get any air time. Being a total ignoramus about wine - I think I know what I like even though I don't know what I like well enough to know why I like it - every discussion about wine has the potential to unlock some little gem that helps me make more (or, even, some!) sense of what it's all about so be reassured that I even think Snooth, as you two call yourselves, can make some contribution to increasing my knowledge, understanding and, possibly, confusion about the whole subject. Any little thing, however, modest, is welcome! Keep on keeping on and thank you for making this, often painfully serious, business more fun.
Yours, from the bottom of the wine world, colinb23 in Melbourne, Australia.
