2009 Elio Grasso Dolcetto d’Alba

This has intense aromas of black raspberry and cherry on the nose with just a hint of underlying tobacco and spice. In the mouth it is finely balanced with rich black cherry fruit and taut, almost mineral fine tannins that give this unusual tension in the mouth considering the wine’s size. It’s a big wine yet wonderfully bright and fresh with a long, freshly fruited yet sapid finish. 91pts
